ControlBird
A distributed in-memory entity database for real-time automation. Built for properties, farms, buildings, plants, or anything else with sensors and moments that matter.
ControlBird is a hierarchical, schema-driven data store that reads and writes in sub-millisecond time, emits change notifications as fields update, and persists every operation to a write-ahead log. Services and user interfaces connect to it instead of talking directly to one another, so the Store becomes the operational backbone.
What ControlBird gives you
- Hierarchical entity model. Portfolios, sites, rooms, assets, and devices, with schema-driven inheritance.
- Reactive by default. Subscribe to any field and react atomically when it changes.
- Production-grade persistence. WAL plus snapshots; no data loss on restart.
- Protocol-ready. First-party drivers for Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT.
- Distributed. Multi-node topologies with leader election for stateful services.
- Scales down, too. Runs on a small box in a farmhouse utility room as comfortably as in a cloud cluster.
Where it runs today
Rental properties, working farms, small buildings, off-grid sites, and industrial operations. The full list is on controlbird.io.
